The Catawba Riversweep is a community cleanup event with the goal of removing 50,000 pounds of trash in a single day. This goal is a collective effort between dozens of nonprofit, governmental and for profit organizations along with over a thousand community members from across 26 counties in North and South Carolina. Riversweep is an example of the power of collaboration and cooperation.

This unique community engagement event is organized and led by the Catawba Riverkeeper, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is dedicated to the preservation and protection of the local waterways that make up the 5,000 sq.mile Catawba-Wateree River Basin. This Basin is the main source of drinking water for over 2 million people across the Carolinas.

For this year, Catawba Riverkeeper is hoping to raise $5,000 by the date of Riversweep, October 4, in honor of removing over 50,000 lbs. of trash from the Catawba-Wateree River Basin waterways!

Your vital support will provide vital safety and event supplies needed in order to provide 1,200 volunteers across 60+ sites along the Catawba-Wateree River Basin. This includes trash grabbers, trashbags, waders for in the water safety, event t-shirts, and more!
