Join us in restoring the Catawba River Basin
In 2022, Catawba Riverkeeper added the word “restore” to our
mission statement. Since Hurricane Helene tore through communities in our
basin, the word “restore” has taken on new meaning for many. Restore
electricity. Restore utilities. Restore
hope.
In the long days ahead, Catawba Riverkeeper is committed to restoring our impacted areas within our Catawba-Wateree River Basin in the short and long term.
This includes:
- Conduct water quality testing to community members who utilize personal wells, to ensure they are drinking clean water.
- Clean up debris in our headwaters and larger waterways, including the 11 lakes in the Catawba River Basin, in collaboration with our local, state, government and corporate partners.
- Safely survey our creeks and smaller tributaries to assess how to safely and effectively preform cleanup and restoration efforts.
- Carefully execute large scale cleanup efforts with staff and dedicated community members throughout our 5,000 sq. mile Basin.
- And so much more!
We don’t know how long it will take to build back our Basin to what it once was, but we are committed to doing all that we can, no matter how long the journey takes. Will you join us in these continued efforts?
Your support today will help us ensure we have the tools needed to complete this mission critical work. Thank you for your vital support.
