Support CatawbaRiverkeeper's expedition to document the Wateree River

A Catawba Riverkeeper crew is going on a 75-mile paddle excursion in a quest to monitor and document the Wateree River!

The crew will be following the Wateree River Blue Trail, which begins near Camden and ends at Congaree National Park.

The first section starts with rocky shoals before flowing into floodplain forests. To the east lies Manchester State Forest and Poinsett State Park. Congaree National Park lies on the west side of the river for the last 10 miles of the trail.

Catawba Riverkeeper’s crew will collect photos, video, and water quality data along their trip, which will start on Friday, March 26 and on Sunday, March 28.

You’re invited to join Southern Basin Director Haley Tedder for a hike on Sunday to meet the Riverkeeper crew as they finish their excursion. The hike will be along the Wateree Passage, part of the Palmetto Trail. More details and a sign up form to come.
