MAKE ME PICK UP TRASH!
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest gave me an incredible appreciation for nature and helped me develop a deep understanding of how important it is to protect it. My Parents took every opportunity to show me the gorgeous, natural beauty all around me. Some of my favorite memories as a kid were spent on Lake Washington, the Columbia River, or hiking to hidden waters in the Cascades. When I moved to Charlotte, NC I gravitated towards the local lakes and rivers because they reminded me of home. While researching places to volunteer, I came across the Catawba Riverkeepers and it seemed like a perfect fit! I am grateful for this organization because it invests so much time and effort into ensuring that the health of our lakes and rivers is preserved for future generations!
Each year Catawba Riverkeeper volunteers pull TENS OF THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF TRASH out of local waterways! That's right...tens of thousands.
