Trails:

  • Half Day
    • High Shoals Falls Loop (2.7 miles)
      • Labeled “Strenuous” due to over 100 steps to the waterfalls and to get above them, the remainder of the hike is moderate hill climbing with downhill.
    • Full Day
      • High Shoals Falls Loop + Chestnut Knob Trail (about 7.9 miles)
        • In addition to the first hike, Chestnut Knob Trail is “Strenuous” due to switch backs to gain a lot of grounds and then, steady uphill hiking.

Special Highlight: Long Distance backpacking professional, Ryan Berry, will describe how to prepare for your own long-distance backpacking experience and help with fitting your pack.

Lunch provided! A typical backpackers’ light lunch: Tortillas, peanut butter, honey, snack bars, cheddar cheese, and backpacking salami.
